Friends advice causing you stress

The following posts are from  award winning writer Jake Krueger.  There were written for his writing students, I’m including them here because if you change just a few words, they apply to stress caused by what other people say.  You’ll see in (italics) my changes.

If you would like to read more from Jake about tips for writers and actors, then please sign in on the right side of this page,  and then click here go to his web site. By signing in you will receive 2 powerful stress relief exercises.

Good Notes (Advice) And Bad Notes (Advice)

As good as it feels to receive praise (and sometimes even helpful advice) about our scripts (what we should do), we have to be extremely careful about who we take feedback from.

When writers (family and friends) try to solve each other’s scripts (life issues), they many times end up doing more harm than good.

Over the next week, Jake will be adding a series of posts about how to give feedback (advice), not only for other writers (people), but also for yourself.   Make sure to come back and check them out.

It’s easy for most writers (people)  to identify a obviously terrible note (advice).  The real danger occurs with the ones that often seem to be the most intelligent.
